Work Parties!

Friday, July 11th — WALL PARTY! 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. We finished building Section One of this year’s earthbag extension, and are plastering! this is seriously the fun part, y’all. come throw mud at the wall! cementatious mud. but still! it’s lots of fun.

Friday, July 17th — Wall party! 11 a.m. – 6p.m. more plastering! as close to a final third coat on Section One as we can get.

Saturday, August 8th — Wall party! We’ll begin to build Section Two (this is the last part we’ll do in 2015). Come learn how to build with this fabulous low-cost earth-friendly construction method. we are extending our earthbag wall across the front of the south property. many hands make light work — come play in the sunshine with us! 11 a.m. – 6p.m.

TBD: Aug 14-16 — Wall Party at The Hive! Another intentional community (in the middle of town!) is hosting a wall-building party to work on their ongoing earthbag wall project. They’re really excellent people and this is a great community — come lend a hand and check it out!

Sunday, August 23rd — Wall party! 11 a.m. – 6p.m. Working on the construction of Section Two!

TBD: Aug 28-30 — Wall Party at The Hive!

Monday (yes, Monday! it’s Labor Day!) September 7th — Harvest Festival! 1pm – 6pm. Potluck, farm tours, music jam. Bring your friends, your kids, and come on down! Horseshoes, bobbing for apples, acoustic music jam, potluck feast, farm tours. Please do not bring dogs.

Saturday, Sept 26th — work party. 11 a.m. – 6p.m. Tasks TBD, very possibly wall plastering.

Sunday, October 4th — work party. 11 a.m. – 6p.m. Tasks TBD, very possibly wall plastering.

Sunday, October 18th — chicken slaughter. 7 a.m. – noon. email Kat for details.

Sunday, November 8th — work party. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tasks TBD.

Saturday November 21 – Sunday November 22nd — turkey slaughter. 7 a.m. – noon. email Kat for details.

Saturday, December 26th — — work party. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tasks TBD.
