Sunday, August 12th — work day. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday, August 25th — Retreat Planning Workshop. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., with one-hour break for lunch. The Sunflower River Stewards will offer a “how we do what we do” workshop on planning, task management, and information flow for communities and other collaborative organizations. Saturday, September 1st — work day. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Harvest Festival Prep.

Monday, September 3rd — Harvest Festival! 1-6 p.m. Come celebrate our 11th anniversary with a potluck, pie-contest, music jam and a great day in the sunshine. Kids are very welcome, but please leave your dogs at home.

Saturday, September 22nd — Wall Art Day! Come put bas-relief animals and plants on the earthbag wall! This is a super fun project and all are welcome to attend.

Saturday, October 12th — work day. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Stump Grinding! We will rent a stump grinder and tackle clearing out all the weedy scrub elms encroaching on the pasture field! and probably in other places. If you’re into exciting power tools, this’ll be a really fun one.

Saturday, October 27th — Chicken Processing Workshop. Open to anyone who is interested in learning how to process your own poultry! This hands-on learning experience will teach you everything you need to know to go from backyard poultry to backyard barbeque. $30 workshop only; $40 if you want to take home a processed chicken! Saturday, November 3rd — work day. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday, November 17th — Turkey Processing. Due to crowding, this event is now open to customers only. If you are interested in learning to process poultry, please plan to attend one of our two chicken-processing workshops, in July and October, instead.
